This study explores the contribution of social entrepreneurship to sustainable development in Burkina Faso using a qualitative approach based on a literature review and an open-ended questionnaire administered online via Google Forms. The analysis highlights how these initiatives pursue their social mission of empowerment, poverty reduction, and strengthening local development, while intervening in key areas such as education, the environment, community health, and sustainable agriculture. Despite promising social innovations and hybrid economic models, their sustainability remains hampered by the lack of an appropriate legal framework, difficulty in accessing finance, dependence on subsidies, and skills gaps. However, the rise of public, private, and community partnerships is an important lever for strengthening their impact. The study recommends the adoption of a specific legal framework, the creation of dedicated financial mechanisms, and enhanced support to consolidate and expand these social initiatives.
